Lineman Manual Field Probe

The Origo Lineman Manual Field Probe revolutionized phase identification when it was introduced in 2003.

Weighing less than 3 lb. and controlled with a single push button switch, it was the fastest and easiest to use phase identification tool available when introduced. No cell phones or other real-time communication services are required, which was a great feature back in 2003 when cell coverage was spotty and unreliable.

Origo still sells many worldwide due to its low cost and ease of use.  With its one-button operation and manual LCD readout, linemen who only need to use it occasionally don’t forget how to operate it.

No skill is required to use it.  The lineman simply takes a measurement, either writes down the sequence for later conversion into phase attribute, or calls it in for immediate translation.  Any personal at the utility can enter the sequence into the base station and relay the phase attribute to the lineman.

The following images illustrate typical usage of this phase identification tool.
